In the 80's, he was the front man for the band DeBarge. He stole the hearts of many young girls with his melodic voice and pretty looks. Then, the band broke up and he re-emerged as a solo artist. To whom am I talking about? El DeBarge.

He's 46 years old now and back in the news. However, this time, it is not due to his singing talent. It's for a recent arrest in regards to a domestic violence investigation.

So far, the full details of his arrest have not been released by anyone. Also, no representatives for him have given any statements. We just know that he was taken to jail on August 26 in regards to an investigation on domestic violence. Once there, he was held on bail because of two prior narcotic charges. This news is so sad, but it's not rare. Over the years, the DeBarge name has been closely associated with drugs.

Since the group fell out of the limelight, it seems that most of the members have struggled with cocaine habits. As a result, three of the other members also have gone to jail for narcotic charges in the past. It's been a long bumpy ride that they just can't seem to overcome. Hopefully, with this recent incident, El will get a better handle on his life. Because the next time I see his name in the news, I hope it'll be for a hit song. Maybe he'll refocus and use the rest of his energies on music instead of drama.
